The PILLAR Implant procedure is a simple, quick, minimally invasive in-office procedure that can help decrease the severity of snoring by increasing the rigidity of the soft palate using small, thin soft palate implants.  During the PILLAR Implant procedure, Dr. Ludwick will insert three to five small Dacron struts under the skin of the soft palate, which will provide stiffness to the soft palate and reduce vibration.  This procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia.  In properly selected individuals, the likelihood of improving snoring is approximately 85%.

On average, this in-office procedure takes 15 minutes and recovery time is approximately one week.  You can return to work the same day and post-operative pain is generally mild and can be treated with over-the-counter pain relievers.
