Sleep is one of the most important things your body needs in order to function properly, and lack of sleep can lead to an extensive list of health problems and risk factors. Plus, a good night’s sleep just makes you feel good and prepares you to tackle the daily challenges of life.

There are a variety of reasons sleep is typically disrupted – some are easier to diagnose than others, but most can be resolved with the proper expertise, equipment, and understanding of your unique situation.

At West Houston ENT and Sleep Center, we have the latest diagnostic and treatment tools available to put an end to your snoring. Treatment options include:

Snoring

Banished from the bedroom again? Don't let snoring ruin your sleep…or your relationship. The fact is that everyone snores occasionally. But regular, consistent snoring can affect the quantity and quality of your sleep, leading to a variety of problems and health issues.

Sleep Apnea
... along with onsite CPAP/BiPAP fitting and dispensing

Simply put, your airway collapses due to muscle relaxation during sleep, which causes airway obstruction. A brain arousal restores your airway. If this happens a few times per night, it is not a problem. However, patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea will have obstructions in their airway hundreds of times per night. This leads to sleep fragmentation and deprivation and a host of long-term cardiovascular complications.

Restless Leg Syndrome

Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a neurological condition that is characterized by the irresistible urge to move the legs. Patients note a strong urge to move their legs at night time when sitting or laying still. Often a creepy, crawly sensation accompanies the urge to move the legs. This sensation is relieved with leg movement. Not only is this symptom frustrating, it can make it difficult to fall asleep and, ultimately, lead to sleep deprivation.

Insomnia

If you are having difficulty falling or staying asleep, you're not alone. Most Americans suffer from transient insomnia at some point in their lifetime. However, prolonged or recurrent insomnia can be a debilitating problem and should not go untreated. Consistent sleep deprivation can lead to a comprehensive list of health issues.
